For the second time this season, the NFL has two games on Monday Night Football. The MNF doubleheader saw a West Coast game in Week 1, something that will not happen in Week 4.
Instead, ESPN is home to the 7:15 p.m. EST kickoff between the 0-3 New York Jets against the 0-3 Miami Dolphins. There will be another kickoff on ABC, this one at 8:15 p.m. EST between the 2-1 Cincinnati Bengals and the 1-2 Denver Broncos.
What’s the Update on ManningCast in NFL Week 4?
With ESPN and ABC hosting Monday Night Football games, ESPN has opted to air a traditional broadcast for both. Usually, the ManningCast is offered as an option different to the usual broadcast with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. With a pair of MNF games, NFL fans will have to go a week without Eli and Peyton Manning.
No need to worry, as ESPN confirmed that the Manning brothers will return for Week 5. Monday Night Football on October 6 is a battle between the 2-2 Kansas City Chiefs and the 3-1 Jacksonville Jaguars. Not many predicted the Jaguars would be in this position, as they’d have a key advantage in playing at home. That said, QB Patrick Mahomes and company just obliterated the Baltimore Ravens, 37-20.
After Week 5, the ManningCast takes a two-week break. They’ll return in Week 8 for the Washington Commanders at the Kansas City Chiefs, yet another primetime game for Mahomes. Week 8 begins a streak of six straight weeks where there will be a ManningCast.
The Manning brothers will host the ManningCast every week from Week 8 to Week 13. They’ll return for the Miami Dolphins at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Week 15 but won’t host another broadcast until Week 18. ESPN also confirmed a ManningCast for one of this year’s Wild Card games.
So far, Bill Murray, Randy Moss, Saquon Barkley, Jeff Daniels, Daniel Jones, and Michael Phelps have all been guests on the ManningCast. Eli and Peyton have done everything in their power to load up their show with the best guests possible, something they take a lot of pride in. There seems to be one active player on the show every week, while the others could be an NFL legend, celebrity, or anything in between.
Week 4 of the NFL slate comes to a close with the Dolphins and Jets each vying for their first win against one another. PFSN’s Offensive Impact has given the Dolphins a C through the first three weeks and a D+ for the Jets. In the second game, the Bengals must navigate through a stiff Broncos defense without QB Joe Burrow. After losing by 38 points last week, Denver knows they have Cincinnati exactly where they want them.
