After the Edmonton Oilers pulled off a stunning 5-4 overtime victory against the Florida Panthers in Game 4, the celebration wasn’t limited to the locker room.
The Oilers’ WAGs were excited, rallying around a big screen in Edmonton and cheering passionately as the team clawed its way back from a 3-0 deficit to level the series at 2-2.
Edmonton’s Overtime Game 4 Win Sparks Joy Among Oilers WAGs
Leon Draisaitl’s fiancée, Celeste Desjardins, took to Instagram to share clips of the group celebration. Alongside Lauren Kyle McDavid, Connor McDavid’s wife, and several other Oilers’ significant others, Desjardins hosted the viewing party at a luxury bar in Edmonton, Canada. One video showed the group watching the game on a large screen, bursting into cheers as the Oilers made their comeback.
Another intimate post featured a close-up of the broadcast screen framed by a hand-made heart, capturing the emotional high of Draisaitl’s winning goal. The support and spirit from home were as electric as the action on the ice.
In July 2024, Draisaitl proposed to Desjardins in a stunning seaside setting in Mallorca, Spain. Just days before the crucial Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, with the Oilers trailing the series 2-1, Desjardins was celebrating her bachelorette in Mykonos, Greece. She was joined by Lauren and several other Oilers WAGs for the festivities.
Oilers Win Game 4 in Overtime Thriller
Game 4 was a rollercoaster. After a strong start by the Panthers, the Oilers found themselves trailing 3-0 in the first period. However, the team regrouped quickly.
They replaced Stuart Skinner with Calvin Pickard. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, and Vasily Podkolzin all found the net to tie the score by the end of the second period. Jake Walman scored midway through the third period to give the Oilers their first lead.

When it seemed like the Oilers might close it out in regulation, the Panthers’ Sam Reinhart equalized with only 19.5 seconds left, forcing the game into overtime. Draisaitl, once again, came through in the clutch. His overtime goal sealed a dramatic victory for the Oilers and knotted the series at two games apiece.
The Stanley Cup Final now shifts back to Edmonton for Game 5 on Saturday, June 14, at Rogers Place. With the series tied and momentum on their side, the Oilers want to carry this energy forward on home ice.
