Iconic SF drag nightclub Oasis to close

San Francisco (Kron) – The Oasis Nightclub, a famous place in San Francisco, which was the center of clouds, cabarets, direct theater, culture and entertainment LGBTQ+ for more than a decade. Quoting the rise in operational costs and the decline in the postpartum attendance, the club operators announced on Monday that Oasis will be closed on January 1, 2026.

Oasis works in a financial loss for “some time”, according to the club’s operators, and the leadership has taken “a snare decision, but it is necessary to close the brick site and mortar shells.”

She participated in her founding of San Francisco D’Arcy Drollinger and The Late Drag Queen, Heklina, Oasis opened for the first time its doors on the eleventh and Folsom South Market on New Year’s Eve, 2014. Over the years, she was played on countless clouds and was visited by celebrities like Jane Fonda and Cher.

“Life revolves around the transformation,” said Darssi Derulinger, founder and director of the artistic oasis. “We have transformed a historic building into a safe, cheerful and pioneering space for art and nightlife. Now, it’s time to switch again. This was the most difficult decision I had at all, but also a decision full of hope for what comes after that.”

While the club will close its doors, Drollinger says that the spirit of the oasis will live through the non -profit Oasis ARTS, which “is dedicated to promotion, production, preservation of strange performance and storytelling in the Gulf region.”

“We have always said that the oasis is more than a nightclub – it’s a movement,” said Dolinsianger. “The movements do not need four walls to continue. Oasis arts, our non -profit, is the place where the heart of our mission will live in 2026.”

Meanwhile, Oasis will continue to run regular programming. Currently, the place is hosting “Jurassiq Parq”, which is a sarcastic music for the privilege of the movie “Jurassic Park”.
