'I am the one': Longhorns sophomore Colin Simmons oozes confidence, wants to break records

Austin – Cologne Simons is a student in Texas, changing his shirt number in 2025. He takes a number, goes from No. 11 to No. 1, and when asked about the reason, he answered with his chest.

“I am one,” he said.

It is difficult to say that. As a real student last season, Simons has achieved nine bags, and 14 he was treated for a loss with three coercive flops and objection. He was the title of Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year, a prize since 2019 for the most prominent student in the country, overcoming the extensive talented receptions Girimia Smith (Ohio state) and Ryan Williams (Alabama) from among others.

It was the first team of all Americans by the American Football Association and was the first long person of more than 6.5 bags in one season since Charles Umenho did so in 2018.

He rose to his 5 -star employment level of Powerhouse at Texas Secondary School at Duncanville, but as great athletes do, I think he could have done more.

“I had a strong new year, but it could have been better,” he said. “It could have been the way, I prefer just to know my talents and capabilities.”

It is definitely not short of confidence, but this serves it well. He said that the coaches want the players to “be themselves”, and this is what it is.

“You must have confidence in this sport,” he said. “Confidence in games, practice, and walking in this attachment. I never lose confidence.”

Simons is a junior midfielder Anthony Hill Junior his brother. When Simons was still in high school and passed through the recruitment stage, Hill was visiting with him and helping to get him everything he needed.

“We have always had a good relationship,” Simmons said. “He is the midfielder, and everything is going through.”

When asked if he had any predictions for the next season, Simons stopped temporarily and thought about it for a while.

“I am trying to break the bag record, I will only say that,” he said.

One bag in Texas is five of Shin Dronet in 1990, and the season’s record is 22.5 by Kiki Diyala in 1982. Perhaps both records will decrease if Simons does what he believed is capable of it.
