Hurricane Lorena intensifies off the western coast of Mexico as Kiko travels over open waters

Miami – Hurricane Kiko intensified a major hurricane in the Pacific Ocean on Wednesday at the same time as Hurricane Lorina on the coast of Baja California in Mexico.

Kiko rose to Category 4 on the scale of the winds of Safir Simpson with the maximum sustainable winds of 130 miles per hour (215 km per hour), according to the Miami National Hurricane Center. It focused on about 1,600 miles (2580 km) east of Hilo, Hawaii, and was a traveling west of 9 miles per hour).

The wind scale ranges from 1 to 5, with hurricanes 3 and above is considered the main hurricane.

The predictors said that Kiko may become stronger the next day or so, but it is likely to fluctuate its intensity after that.

There were no hours or warnings related to cake and there are no risks to the ground.

Meanwhile, Lorina was a hurricane of the first category with the maximum sustainable wind at 80 miles per hour (130 km per hour). He was expected to continue to reinforce during the evening, and the predictors urged people on the Paja California Peninsula and in the northwest of Mexico to monitor the progress of the storm.

Laureena focused about 160 miles (225 km) west of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and travel northwest 15 miles per hour (24 km / h).

The expectation said that the beauty of rain may reach 15 inches (38 cm) in some places, and it was possible in floods and clay collapses. Lorina’s ocean amplification can cause life -threatening rupture currents in coastal areas.

The tropical storm warnings and watches were valid for most Baja California and parts of northwest Mexico. On the expected track, the Lorina Center can move on the ground on Friday. Lorina was expected to be weakened on Thursday and be a tropical storm on Friday as it approached the ground.
