HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KGO) — For the second time this week, a helicopter has crashed in California.
The accident occurred in Huntington Beach on Saturday and left at least five people injured. The crashed helicopter ended up tangled and dangling from several palm trees.
Investigators say the helicopter went down near an intersection along the Pacific Coast Highway in the afternoon. The wreckage was trapped in trees in front of the Hyatt Regency hotel.
Several videos posted online show the plane rotating clockwise over Huntington Beach, then descending toward the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palm trees and stairs. Video showed first responders, along with dozens of bystanders, running to the scene.
