Bertrand said it is not clear the role that Marines will serve when they arrive in Los Angeles

“We were told that the rules of engagement are still being completed. Lawyers of the Ministry of Defense consider this type of engagement that these Marines will receive as they face demonstrators in the streets of Los Angeles,” Bertrand said.

The decision to deploy the Marine Corps to Los Angeles comes where the city’s and state leaders have repeatedly retreated to the federal force that exercises force and took over administrative control over the city’s military operations without consulting them.

California Governor Gavin New Off described the mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass as the publication of the National Guard in the city as an unnecessary escalation and work from the political theater.

Bass held a press conference on Sunday night, blamed Trump for increasing unnecessary tensions in the city, as the demonstrators moved to the street to protest the enforcement of immigration operations taking place in different locations in Los Angeles.

“What we see in Los Angeles is the chaos raised by the administration,” Bass said at a press conference on Sunday. “This is about another agenda, this is not related to public safety.”

On Monday, the Newsom office filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, which is seeking to return the National Guard Command in California to the ruler.

Also on Monday, Trump expressed his support for the California Governor for detention, although the charges were not immediately clear.

“I think his basic crime was nominated for the ruler, because he did a bad job,” Trump told reporters on Monday afternoon in Washington, DC.
