The memorial, which grew up outside the Capitol after the killings, flowers, American flags, pictures and sticky notes with messages such as, “Thank you for the belief in me always and in Minnesota” and “We got this from here. Thank you for everything.”

On Wednesday, the protest also included an original American drum circle, a rhetoric, and a crowd singing “Grazing Grace”.

About the assembly, there was a heavy presence of the police, as the law is prohibited from the streets leading to the Capitol and the state forces that stand.

The event did not include a program to speak and the attendees were directed to not bring signs of any kind.

The man accused of the Federal Court and the State Court of the Killing of Hortmanz, Vans Powlet, also accused of shooting another democratic legislator, Senator John Hoffman, his wife, Evitte, at their home a few miles away in Champlin. They survived and recovered. Federal prosecutors refused to predict the motive.

During the event, Rebecca Knngham, President of the University, spoke about the sadness and anger that people are wrestling with questions about how things reach this point.

“I have no answers to these questions, but I know that finding answers to society together as we are today,” she said.
