Kansas City, Mo (WDAFHuman remains were identified near Garnett, Kansas, in 1973 positively after more than 50 years. The remains were determined to belong to the teenager of Kansas City, Kansas, who disappeared in 1972.
KBI Investigation (KBI) said that the decomposing residue of an unidentified man is three miles southeast of Garnet, off 1550 roads on April 18, 1973.
He was also wearing two rings of gold with crosses, a ring with “78” and a silver chain with a large cross, according to KBI.
During the autopsy in 1973, the pathologist ruled the victim’s death as a murder due to the signs of shock. It has been determined that the victim was about 20 years old and is believed to be brown and skinny hair.
KBI said over the years, many attempts to determine the remains and know what happened to the victim.
In 2024, the DNA was extracted from the remains so that the DNA profile can be used to test the criminal genetic genealogy.
Earlier this year, KBI learned that the test had identified the relatives of the unknown victim. After more investigations, KBI agents and Anderson Sharif County Office found the victim’s brothers. They conducted the interviews and collection of DNA from a brother for comparison.
The unknown person was then identified positively as Jimmy Allen Dollison.
KBI said that Dollison was living in Kansas City, Kansas when he disappeared at some time in October or November 1972, when he was 16 years old.
According to family members, his losing was reported by his parents, but the family has never learned what happened.
KBI and Sharif office continue to investigate the Dollison death conditions.
