Texas (KXAN) – With the shift of spring to summer, sports students all over Texas prepare for qualifiers and finals in sports such as baseball and soft ball – but any kind of physical activity carries the risk of injury. The youngest athletes are more likely to injuries in the ankle, knee and shoulder.
Dr. Clayton Skaggs is the founder and CEO of the company Central Institute for Human PerformanceWork with both athletes and non -athletes to determine and solve the root causes of their pain.
“Consciousness of your body, and awareness of your movement really improves your response and control when these pressures come on your way.” “This is one of the forms of building flexibility that is within our control.”
Skags said that the wrong concept common to sport injuries is that the injury area is the cause of the injury. For example, a non -shock knee injury can actually stem from weakness above or down the knee. If not properly treated, the childhood injury can cause problems later in life.
“It is often told young athletes, and adults also … it’s actually a gift because it revealed their weakness and their weakness, that we can now restore and improve so that they do not face problems on the road.”
One of the methods of prevention suggested by Skaggs is to conduct simple evaluation of movement and movement that tests the basic things such as stability and position. There is another way that revolves around the mind – sensory awareness. Simply, sensory awareness is the body’s knowledge and capabilities.
When it comes to fitness, Skaggs said simplicity is important.
“The body loves simplicity,” said Skags. “If the exercise is simple enough, we will continue to do so, and if you continue to do so, then this is when [you’ll] Often rewards. “
