‘How dare you’: L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, Gov. Newsom condemn JD Vance’s remarks

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin New Desoury led a fierce wave of reaction from local officials on Friday, which led to the condemnation of Vice President JD Vance after he visited the city and made notes amid continuous immigration, customs and customs (ICE) in southern California.

“Today, the Vice President of the United States spent three or four hours in Los Angeles before holding a press conference and producing completely lies and innocent in an attempt to stir the division and conflict in our city,” said Mayor Bass to open her speech. “Unfortunately, the vice president did not take enough time to get to know our city.”

Vans arrived in Los Angeles on Friday to take a tour of many federal centers, get to know the leaders and the marine infantry and make notes to the press. After talking about societal turmoil and the increase in federal law enforcement after the ongoing migration survey operations in the region, Vans talked about the actions of the local government and the state, especially that newsom and Bass. Vans said that the two leaders were actively encouraged by “illegal immigration” in the Los Angeles society and offered benefits to immigrants who “break the law, come to our country and receive generous general assistance to do so.”

In response, Bass sent her speech to Vans, saying: “How dare to say that city officials encourage violence. We have maintained peace. You know that federal officials who were here protecting a federal building have not participated in the control of the crowd.”

Bass also condemned Vans and ICE to incite fear within society, saying that federal agents are wearing clear clothes, refusing to show identity and driving regular cars with colored windows. “Who are these people? The mayor has argued that federal officials must identify themselves, otherwise it will continue to spread terrorism in the city.

“We have been able to deal with the violence and sabotage that happened,” Bass said, recognizing the efforts of the crowd control by the Los Angeles Police Department, the Sheriff Ministry of Los Angeles and other local law enforcement. “Our streets were peaceful, and even when there was sabotage at its height, you are talking about a few hundred people who were not necessarily associated with any of the peaceful protests.”

Among the expressions of general disappointment at the viewpoint of the Vice President and Speaking Points, Bass and Newsom explicitly summoned Vance to communicate Senator Alex Badilla wrongly in a different name.

“How do you dare not respect Sinaturna?” Bass asked during a press conference. “The last time I reviewed, the US Vice President is the US Speaker.

Vans, in response to a question from the press, asking for a comment on the Trump immigration campaign, answered earlier, “Well, I was hoping that Jose Badilla would be here to ask a question, but unfortunately, I think he decided not to appear because there was no theater, and that’s all.”

NEWSOM participated in Bass’s comments through X postNoting that the vice president had worked with Senator Padilla. “If he described it as” Jose Badilla “is not an accident,” the ruler claimed. The news office of newsom described the behavior of the vice president as disappointing, saying that he “chose” that allowed journalists to enter his press conference, while judging “in favor of party influencers.”

After responding to the incorrect name of Vans, Bass challenged Vice President’s intentions. The mayor said: “I don’t know if you were here before.” “You are the umbrella in the city. You are going through all kinds of rule, then leaving, and adding to provocation. So you add to the section, or try to create a section in our city. But I just want you to know that our city stands together. We are united.”

Bass drew to the people standing around it. “Standing with me today are families, business owners, community leaders and actors, and nothing you can do will divide us.”
