New York — Honda remembers more than 259,000 cars across the United States due to a problem that can cause the brake pedal to shift outside the place, and may interfere with the driver’s ability to stop or slow down.
According to the documents published by the National Traffic Safety Administration on Highway, the summons covers some pilots in Honda between the years of the model 2023 and 2025-as well as cars under the luxury ACURA brand in the automotive industry: 2021-2025 Acura TLX and 2023-2025 Acura MDX.

The NHTSA recall report indicates that the brake pedal axis in some of these vehicles has not been properly secured during production. This can lead to the pedal transmission out and “may lead to an unintended application”, and the report also indicates an increase in the risk of disruption.
“The problem may also cause an abnormal brake pedal during operation, or lights up the holidays in the set of tools, or causes the vehicle’s brake lights to remain lit even when the brake pedal is not applied,” America Honda said in a statement on Wednesday.
As a treatment, Honda says that accredited merchants will examine the vehicles covered by this summons and replace the brake pedal group if necessary, for free. According to the NHTSA report, the company estimates that 1 % of these vehicles have this problem.
The agents’ notifications began on June 13. The letters of the owner’s notification are to follow up on July 28. Meanwhile, drivers can also confirm whether their specified car is included in this recall and find more information using NHTSA or searching for Honda call.
Between February 2024 and June 5, NHSTA’s notes, Honda received three guarantee calls related to this case – but there are no reports on injuries.
Honda began investigating the wrong brake pedal in April 2024, after receiving a report on a vehicle suffering from this problem. The company later decided that the improper assembly of the brake pedal axis has occurred at the United States Factory for suppliers, which has been closed since then. Production has been moved to a factory in Mexico – where the supplier now uses the camera sensor “to check whether the axial pin is drowned”, the summons report notes.
