Homicide investigation underway in north Austin after man found

Austin – Austin Police Administration said it was An investigation into a murder Which occurred overnight in North Austin.

APD said that 911 received a call at 2:38 am on Sunday about a man with a “clear injury to his body” near the 9800 Bloc from the North Highway 35.

According to the police, the officers found a Spanish origin with injuries at the scene and tried to save life, but he later died at 3:25 am APD did not specify the man yet.

“In this case, we are committed to knowing exactly what happened,” APD said at a press conference Sunday morning. “There is not much information at the present time, as the investigation has just started.”

This incident is being investigated as the 37th Austin murder in 2025, and APD said it was dealt with by both the Crime and the Killing Department.
