Homeowner uninjured after car crashes through roof of Nashville home: 'I was being watched over'

Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) – Two people were injured after a car crashed into the roof of a home in Nashville over the weekend, officials said.

The accident occurred after 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Homeowner Jennifer Pittman told Nexstar affiliate WKRN that her entire house shook when the car crashed and lodged itself in the roof, with the front end extending into her bedroom.

She was in her living room with her dogs shortly after waking up when the accident happened. Neither she nor her dogs were injured.

“This was my grandparents’ house before I moved in, so I feel like I was being watched,” Pittman said.

Pittman told WKRN that her road is known for dangerous driving, and she hopes changes will be made to improve her safety.

“People use the middle lane as a race track,” she said. “We have a running joke, ‘Who’s going to get hit head-on first when turning into our lane?’ That’s how bad it is, so something definitely needs to be done.”

No additional information was available about the two people who were in the car during the accident. Officials who spoke with a local outlet WSMVHowever, he said the driver of the car suffered a broken neck and faces charges including reckless endangerment and driving under the influence.

The outlet also reported that the driver hit an embankment at a high rate of speed before going airborne.

The car was removed from Pittman’s roof on Sunday.
