Department of Homeland Security suspends TSA PreCheck and Global Entry airport security programs

Washington– The US Department of Homeland Security has decided to suspend the TSA PreCheck and Global Entry airport security programs as the partial government shutdown continues.

These programs are designed to help expedite the passage of registered travelers through security lines. Her comment could cause headaches for publications.

“Lockdowns have serious real-world consequences,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement. She also said that “TSA and CBP are prioritizing the general traveling public at our airports and ports of entry and are suspending special escort and courtesy.”

The partial government shutdown began on February 14 after Democrats and the White House failed to reach an agreement on legislation to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Democrats are demanding changes to immigration processes that are key to President Donald Trump’s deportation campaign.

Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee criticized the decision regarding airport security.

They said on social media that the administration was “stifling programs that make travel smoother and safer” and accused it of “deliberately ruining your travel.”
