Comal County, Texas (KXAN) – The owner of Riley’s Taven, a historical bar between Saint Marcus and New Braonfelles, said he is desperate to find out who tried to set fire to his work early on Saturday morning.
The security video on KXAN picked up a person throwing a burning body on the wall. The fire started to grow, but only was damaged by the superficial work.
“We had no kind of attempt to premeditated burning or anything of this that happened to us,” said Joel Hoffman, who has had business for more than 20 years.
“They are not only followed by me and my wife, but all ways to live our employees, and they are all regular who depend in this place as a place of social communication, then all the musicians who come here earn money every month.” “It is very sad to be constantly tense and anxious. I haven’t slept much since this happened.”
Hoffman said that the security video seems to appear to show a liquid man on the wall before setting fire to him. The video stamp indicates that it happened after four in the morning on Saturday.
Riley Taferin has been the primary element in central Texas for decades. The building dates back to the nineteenth century. According to Texas Historic AssociationIt was the first business to obtain a license to serve alcohol after lifting the ban on Texas in 1933.
Hoffman said: “The place has survived throughout these years. Then I took over in 2004 and added a room with a stage at the back. “This was very lucky – [a fire] To happen and no serious damage occurs. “
Hoffman told Kxan that the guests were staying at Airbnbs in the property when the fire started.
He said: “If this is a successful attempt, there are families sleeping in all of our holiday rental here. This is frightening for me.”
