Historic East Austin restaurant celebrates 75 years

Austin (KXAN) – A 75 -year -old famous restaurant has just celebrated the city.

“Cisco” Cisneros opened Cisco In 1950, on Sunday, the restaurant held a party to celebrate the anniversary.

“There are many stories coated on these walls and the people who knew my grandfather,” said Matt Siseniros, the former owner and the grandson of Rudi.

Matt is now running work with his Will Will Bridges and Bryan Schneider, who all grew up in Austin.

He says while food has certainly restored people again and again, but he is the wandering atmosphere that his grandfather brought to the restaurant.

Matt said: “Austin was not comprehensive at the time, and he started somewhat or was a pioneer in this opportunity for people to reach an influential place for them and that he was an elegant person,” Matt said.

Over the years, many big names have gone through the doors, and some of the first time settings, but some have continued to return.

“From a historical point of view, the biggest names, if you will, will be LBJ or Darrell Royal, Kevin Costner a ton of actors,” Matt said.

Regardless of those who stopped, “Cisco” always made them welcome and this is the way he said he died to this day.

Cisco’s was recognized in 2019 as a historical landmark by the historic Austin Committee.
