Morrison, Colorado (KDVR) – Highway 285 is one of the main links between Denver and Mount Colorado, but the local population says it has become increasingly dangerous.
Josh Track, a long -time, took a video of semi -satellite brakes smoking while traveling on the highway.
“I arrived at Windy Point, which is located a few miles away from the place where I took the video, and there was a smoke wall. I could smell the smell of the burning brakes, so I continued to follow the smoke below the hill, and then I, when I went to the hidden hills, this truck looked like it was on the fire,” said Track. “
The winding road is famous for its sharp and sharp curves. With the 285th improvement committee, Bill Brunner spent the past decade in paying safety promotions.
“It is a multi -quality road, so the row changes all the time, then there are already some good size curves besides it,” said Boner. “If you do not understand the physics behind it, and the brazen argument it takes, then you are in trouble before you know it.”
The Ministry of Transport in Colorado added the passers -by and new banners in recent years. But Bruner said that more enforcement is needed – and possibly new legislation -.
“In the state, they talk about passing a draft law that requires a mountain driver’s license to be able to do things in the state, and I think this is a very good idea because you get people from Kansas, Nebraska or Texas that are not used to driving in these circumstances, and they have no idea what they do,” Bruner said.
Until more changes are made, defenders and locals say it is up to each driver to treat 285 with caution.
“Watch your speed, because you do not realize how tight some curves,” Bruner said.

The law continues to remind heavy truck drivers to monitor their speed and use fleeing stairs if the brakes are parked – because here, it can be a bad bad decision.
