New York — A family on vacation and a pilot, whose dream lives in New York City, forms the six missing lives after a helicopter fell to see the city’s landmarks in the Hudson River on Thursday.
On Friday, the helicopter pilot was identified as Seankse Johnson, who goes alongside Shun.
NTSB said the pilot accumulates 788 hours of the total flight time. Investigators still need to calculate the flight time in a certain helicopter that was flying when he fell.
Johnson was a veterans in the Navy, who had a commercial pilot license in 2023 in Utah. He had spent periods of flying throughout the country and friends say he worked even as a coach – he recently started flying in the New York helicopter charter.
Matt Claire served in the navy with Johnson in California, and he says his friend recently helped his daughter how to fly a fixed wing plane.
“We were in the navy together, a few years in the same thing here in Coronado and was just a very good man … only 100 % friendly, not a bad bone, as you know,” Claire said. “What I need to know everyone … The man was a great pilot. I strongly doubt that he would return to anything he did wrong.”
His wife, who told ABC New York Station Wabc, says it is separate but is still very close, says the two on the phone on Thursday before the fateful trip.
She says Johnson’s life was a pilot.
