KDVR – Parts of the Great Sand Park are witnessing flood issues, According to the Social Media Center from the National Park Service.
NPS said that Modano Pass Road is still closed by Castle Creek to Modano Pass.
Road crews and patrol guards arrived at the scene and assessed the damage caused by the floods. Initial assessments showed damage, deep washing and roads covered with wood and debris.
Another group of patrol guard arrived Wednesday morning from the East through the Medrano Corridor, from Forest Road 559, to evaluate roads in the region and contact any parties that have been cut off due to non -powerful conditions.
Road crews said that initial reports show that the ground conditions are very wet for any safe or effective reforms, and that the crews will wait for the most dry conditions before starting.
NPS said that all paved roads around the camp, the visitor center and the main sand dunes are still open and are not affected by the floods.
