The academic year is about to end in the Los Angeles Unified School area, and while the supervisor Alberto Carvalho announced that all universities as safe spaces, families confirm that graduation celebrations are also.
He joined Carvalho by other officials on Monday to attend an emergency press conference that was organized to address the concerns of members of society, especially immigrants.
“Our schools are safe places,” Carvalho said. “Our schools are places of education and inspiration, not fear and intimidation.”
According to United Los Angeles teachersThe safe space policy in force applies to all LaUSD properties also applies to school buses and official activities outside the campus, such as field trips.
It also applies to graduation, as Carvalho says that the school police will be available for graduation to intervene and interfere with any federal agency trying to disrupt the graduation ceremony.
“Every child has the right to public education, and therefore every child and their parents have the right to celebrate their educational success arm,” Carvalho said.
At the press conference on Monday, the supervisor urged the parents to update the communication information in the emergency situations while the students are discharged from participating in any wandering operations, as it is the end of the school year.
More than 100 graduation celebrations are to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the region.
