Gia Giudice Claims Teresa and Luis Are Handling Everything and Says They’re Still Responsible Despite Ongoing Tax Issues!
Gia Giudice is standing by her family’s side amid the mounting headlines.
During a candid interview with People on April 15, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star addressed the $3 million in tax liens recently filed against her mother Teresa Giudice and stepfather Luis Ruelas. The 24-year-old, who is carving out her own path in the spotlight, said the situation was addressed as a family — and they’re confident it’s under control.
“It was definitely a family discussion,” Gia said.
“My sisters were calling, just making sure — because they’re at college, everyone definitely checks in — ‘Is everything under control?’ And [Teresa and Luis] obviously said, ‘Yes, everything is being handled.’”
Gia added that while some headlines stir necessary conversations, others are simply dismissed. “Certain things we obviously do talk about as a family, but if it’s careless stories, then we just brush it off.”
The tax issues came to light after two liens — one for nearly $2.6 million and another for over $160,000 — were filed against Luis, while Teresa was hit with her own lien totaling over $300,000. The developments come years after Teresa served time in prison due to financial crimes tied to her first husband, Joe Giudice.
“It’s definitely hard when you’re a part of a public family,” Gia acknowledged. “My whole family’s in the public eye. So whatever goes on with my family, [I’m] associated with it… So even though it might not be me, I will still get the wrath of it in the comments, my sisters will.”
Despite the ongoing scrutiny — including recent remarks from Bethenny Frankel, who criticized Teresa publicly — Gia remains fiercely loyal to her family. “Overall, my entire family is very responsible,” Gia explained. “Everything is getting taken care of… [and] at the end of the day, I will always defend my family whether people like it or not.”
She added, “As much as I am stepping out on my own, I will always have my family’s back. And that’s all I was doing, and that’s all I’ll keep doing.”
