(Kron) – Auckland’s friends of animal (FOAS) continues to society for support, and what he calls, “catastrophic” cuts in the budget.
OAS – the shelter for animals for Auckland – said it was “determined to maintain the highest rate of providing” although the city lower the agency’s budget.
Since 2020, Oas said it has lost 30 % of its employees and 40 % of its budget for food and supplies, while its eating of animals increased more than 40 %.
FOAS said it is working with city officials to create a sustainable model that allows Oas to focus on its daily operations and gives FOAS the opportunity to build programs that help low -income pet owners and save animal at the city level.
“We have an incredible opportunity to seize this moment to make a meaningful and durable change to help Oakland animals and the people who care about them,” said Oakland’s animal services in a news statement.
Forens said that members of society can help by donating, becoming a campaign to collect donations, volunteer, host a home party or mark the annihilation.
FOAS announced that a meeting in the city hall is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, May 27 at 6 pm at Temascal Works.
