Frances Tiafoe just passed the keys to the Cadillac family to another star athlete. The American tennis star extended a warm welcome to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, who was unveiled as the latest brand ambassador for the American automotive brand.
Tiafoe, who’s been aligned with the iconic American carmaker since early 2023, celebrated the NFL star’s arrival with a heartfelt message. Tiafoe’s shout-out to McCaffrey, who is estimated to be worth $30 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), came via his Instagram stories:
“Welcome to the family bro,” wrote the American tennis player.
Frances Tiafoe Collaborated with Cadillac to Launch Custom Sneakers
Tiafoe’s ongoing partnership with Cadillac has been anything but ordinary. Since becoming a brand ambassador in March 2023, the World No. 17 has leaned into the collaboration in stylish fashion. Last year, ahead of the US Open, Cadillac partnered with celebrated sneaker designer Dominic “The Surgeon” Ciambrone to produce a limited-edition sneaker collection inspired by the company’s electric vehicle lineup.
Each design draws influence from Cadillac’s groundbreaking models—the LYRIQ, OPTIQ, ESCALADE IQ, and CELESTIQ—and even includes a custom Air Jordan 1 Low created exclusively for Tiafoe.
One pair from the exclusive sneaker collection was auctioned to benefit the Frances Tiafoe Fund through the USTA Foundation, supporting tennis and educational programs for underserved youth. During the 2024 U.S. Open, Cadillac used the spotlight to full effect, showcasing both its cutting-edge EV portfolio and the custom sneaker line at the Cadillac Showroom as part of the tournament’s fan experience.
Following his Barcelona Open heartbreak, where he lost in the first round to local player Jaume Munar in three sets, Frances Tiafoe will now kick off his Madrid Open campaign, where he is seeded 16th. The American tennis star has received a bye into the opener. He will take on either Quentin Halys or Luciano Darderi in the second round on April 24, 2025.
This will be Tiafoe’s fifth appearance at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid. He made his debut in 2019, defeating Nikoloz Basilashvili and Philipp Kohlschreiber to reach the third round. At this stage, he lost with a 3-6, 4-6 scoreline to eventual semifinalist Rafael Nadal. The former World No. 10 reached the third round once more in 2023, where he lost to Pedro Cachin 1-6, 6-7(2). The American tennis star has a 3-4 win-loss record and has won $ 209,481 in prize money in the tournament over the years.
