Fox reportedly attacks at least four in San Marcos, prompting rabies concerns

Saint Marcus, Texas (KXAN) – At least four people were attacked by a fox while walking in the natural Kreik cleansing area on Sunday, according to San Marcus.

In a press release, the city said that people were walking near the paths of Beatrice, Dante and Ripheus and that the attacks raised rabies fears. Fox bit at least two people, until 11 am on Monday, was not found.

“It rarely attacks human foxes, and unusual behavior raises fears that the animal may be sick, and perhaps with a dog’s disease virus,” said Christie Banch, animal service director, in a press release.

“It is important to request any individuals who may be exposed to medical care as soon as possible,” she added.

The city works with the Ministry of Health Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Animal Services to investigate the accident, while animal protection officers are tracked. If the fox is not found, the city will assume that it has rabies disease.

The city said that the owners of pets should vaccinate their pets against rabies, which is necessary in preventing the spread of the virus and requesting the law of the state. People can learn more about obtaining vaccines Visit this link.
