Fort Collins, Colorado (KDVR) – The Fort Collins family was killed in a car accident in Arizona while on the spring vacation trip to visit their son in college.
Now the community of the Christian Heritage Academy wanders in the loss of the family, as the mother was a teacher and guardian of the basketball plate, and the daughter was the leader of the basketball team.
The 17 -year -old Sofia case and her mother Sarah Sarah died in the accident, which included multiple vehicles believed to be caused by winter weather conditions.
Sam Kis, the father, died a few days after his injuries.
“Sam, Sarah and Sophia were leading to the Phoenix region where Montgomery (their son) was attending GCU. Keaton (the eldest son) would fly the next day. They were spending some time doing some favorite things in Arizona to spend the spring vacation.”
Pakard met with Keaton and Montghamrie in Flagstav after learning the tragedy.
“Frankly, I just fell as I just fell and only thought that this could not be possible,” said Bakard. “I spent some time with Sam in the hospital in the remaining days. Sam was alive.”
Pakard said that the family of the case was incredibly generous, and the love of Christ who wanted to help others.
“The generosity that started with Sam and Sarah and interfered with their children is incredible,” he said. “Really, nothing is short of the gift of God.”
He said that Sofia died a day before her eighteenth birthday. The basketball team was also made in the league.
“I didn’t tell her that,” said Bakard.
Fox31 has shown in the semester, making his teammates a comfort space. There were animals stuffed with dinosaur and a disco ball that was found that Sofia was the life of the party.
“I loved this sport, but for her, it was all about the relationships. I really sponsored some amazing relationships from the beginner to the elderly in separation with her,” said Bakard.
He also showed the basketball photo in Sofia, where its teammates added Hala and wings a few months ago.
“I think her color was a little on the pictures, so the lady who took her made one second. Well, the second color was suspended and a kind of joke,” she said. “Every season that image was with Hala and the wings were already hanging in our gym.”
Sofia’s parents, who were also active members of the school, worked in real estate property management in Rocky.
“They lived their lives according to the example of the Bible from the Bible,” said Jared Sarler, Director of Operations. “We lost Sam and Sarah physically. I cannot see them in the office every day, but when I walk in this office and interact with the people I work with, I interact with Sam and Sarah every day. Their fingerprints on everything we see, everything we do.
Sinkler said that Sam has always lived through the quote, “Just do what is right” and make everyone better and always found good in people.
Sinkler said: “This feeling will be in society and I feel at school,” Sinkler said. “He will feel this throughout the country. It has been taking place a lot, and a lot of relationships.”
“I think it is a motive to do the right thing more and more, as much as I can definitely honor,” said Bakard.
Sofia wanted her brother to retire the basketball shirt. School leaders are planning to do this in the coming months in honor. The funeral is scheduled to be on April 11 at 4 pm at the Timberne Church. More than 1,000 people are expected to attend.
