After a bizarre CBS interview that was originally meant to promote Belichick’s new book, former NFL quarterback and current analyst Robert Griffin III weighed in on the legendary coach’s relationship with 24-year-old Jordan Hudson and didn’t hold back, delivering a strong statement aimed directly at the former New England Patriots head coach.
Belichick’s Romance Has Become a Distraction, Griffin States
Belichick has always been a polarizing figure in the eyes of the media. Throughout his tenure with the New England Patriots, he was involved in several controversies — from Spygate to Deflategate — and was known for his cold, curt demeanor with reporters.

“You’re telling me that this 24-year-old woman, Jordan Hudson, was speaking for 73-year-old six-time Super Bowl winning head coach Bill Belichick? I’ve had enough. Listen, I think love is love, right? Love is love, but my God.”
Among the many moments involving the couple that caught the media’s attention — including Hudson’s involvement in Belichick’s media activities and personal connections in North Carolina — the tipping point was an interview with CBS, during which Hudson repeatedly interrupted, dictating what Belichick could and could not talk about.
The behavior was widely viewed as controlling and raised suspicions — especially when seemingly harmless questions, such as how the two met, were shut down by Hudson before Belichick could answer. Griffin didn’t hold back, weighing in on the situation and criticizing the way Hudson carries herself in the media alongside the former coach.
“This woman has allegedly shut down the Hard Knocks documentary about the North Carolina Tar Heels, featuring Belichick in his first year as a college football coach. After it was agreed to, and after it was announced to the masses, major red flag. She also allegedly forced her way into the Dunkin Donuts Super Bowl commercial,” Griffin added.
It’s strange to think that during such an intriguing chapter in Belichick’s career — his decision to take on the challenge of coaching a college football program — the media spotlight has shifted to his personal life. Instead of focusing on his new role, much of the attention is on his relationship with a much younger woman who now appears to influence how Belichick handles himself in public.
“And we are not ones to opine on somebody’s relationship, like, do what you want, it is what it is, but when you take into account all of that, what is that comes to mind for you? I would want to say like, ‘Oh, happy wife, happy life’. But she is not even a fiancé, she’s the girlfriend,” Griffin said.
Whatever the reasons behind Hudson’s apparent control over Belichick’s public appearances, their relationship is quickly becoming one of the most controversial in the football world. And it’s something the legendary coach will have to learn to live with — especially if he continues to allow her such influence over how he presents himself in the media.
