(Krona) – Publishing the floating artworks and banners in water was published by Chevron Warf in Richmond to protest on oil tankers and oil refinery operations in the region.
Activists are calling for the end of pollution from fires and oil leaks, which “plagued the residents of Richmond for decades.”
On Friday morning, large signs are floating, reading “Big Oil = Death” and “Water is Life” on the surrounding waves of Chevron sidewalks.
Activists said the local population bears the effect of pollution.

“In 2025 alone, Martinez’s fire in February and Valero fire this month resulted in the implementation of shelter orders in place, as parts of the Bay SF were again suffering from particles paint from the homes of families from Martinez to Alamida. In response, locals eat boats and fields.”
Chevron recently transferred its headquarters from Saint Ramon in the Contra Costa Province to Houston, Texas, and the oil production giant reduced 600 jobs in San Ramon.

“Our life has been closely related to the damage of the economy based on fossil fuel, and the reality today is that this relationship has ended to its end,” said Richmond’s Luna Anzolo.
