Fire erupts on roof of Riverside County home after lightning strike

The roof of the Riferside Province’s house broke out in fire after lightning shocked him on Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were sent to the scene near the intersection of Peridot Street and Moonstone Street in Hemate immediately after 5:30 pm

A photographer photographer with Hemit Il News reported that the owner of the house and his neighbor caught the garden hoses and tried to get rid of the fire while the crews were with the Hemitt Traout fire department at home.

In shots of the battle of fire, at least three fire engines responded to the scene, where a crew of about half of the firefighters worked, four of them at the peak of the tiled ceiling, with a saw and other tools to reach and extinguish the fire.

Laura Estl, head of the fire brigade battalion, said when they arrived at the scene, they seem to suffer from a positive strike.

She said: “We peel the tiles and put out the fire, and there was no internal fire or smoke damage to the house.”

The head of the battalion added that four engines and a team responded to the scene and that it is unusual to receive reliable reports of lightning strikes that lead to fires.

“We suspected this based on the circumstances we saw when we got to the scene and confirmation as soon as we arrived in the area.”
