The American organizers agreed to update the Covid -19 shots on Wednesday, but they restricted their use of many Americans – and removed one of the vaccines available to young children.
The new shots of Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax are approved for all the elderly. But the Food and Drug Administration has narrowed its use of younger adults and children for those with at least a healthy high condition, such as asthma or obesity. This represents new barriers for reaching millions of Americans who have to prove their risks – and other millions who may want to obtain vaccination and are no longer suddenly qualified.
In addition, the Pfizer vaccine will not be available to any child under legal age 5, after the FDA (FDA) said it canceled the emergency license in that age group.

Parents will remain able to search for clips from the competing medicine maker, another maker of the Merseuled Rana vaccines, who has full approval from the Food and Drug Administration for children who are not more than 6 months old. But the company’s Spikevax vaccine is only approved for children with at least one serious health problem.
The renewable vaccines target a newer version of the advanced virus continuously and are set to start charging immediately. However, it may take days or weeks before many Americans know whether they will be able to obtain a decision, with relying on various decisions by federal health advisors, private health insurance companies, pharmacies and state authorities.
The new restrictions – inspection by FDA officials in May – are a break from the previous American policy, which recommended a annual snapshot to all Americans 6 months and over.
The approach reflects the increasing doubts about the ongoing risks of Covid-19 and the need for annual enhanced footage of the Minister of Health Robert F. Kennedy Junior and FDA Commissioner Marti Macari, who were explicit critical of the large -scale vaccines.
Kennedy wrote on social media: “The American people demanded science, safety and a good sense. This framework provides the three,” Kennedy wrote on social media.
Kenned said that the Novavax snapshot is only open to people aged 12 years or older, not children – and under the same risk -based restrictions as they are now in the location of Moderna and Pfizer options. It is the only protein-based Covid-19 vaccine.
Some medical groups, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, intercepted, on the new border, saying that it may prevent the vaccine from reaching families who want to protect their children. Last week, the group made its own recommendations to the children, saying that the annual shots Covid highly recommend children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years and advised older children.
This differs from the latest guidelines under Kennedy, which does not recommend clips for healthy children at any age, but says that children may get shots in consultation with doctors.
Many countries have expanded the scope of Covid-19 vaccines in recent years, and some experts in the United States say the change is logical here, given that almost all Americans have some protection from previous vaccination or infection.
But the implementation of the transformation provides a number of logistical problems.
Insurance companies usually adopt the decisions to cover their vaccines on the recommendations of a committee of consultants for diseases and prevention control centers, but some say they will also search for medical professional groups, including the American Medical Association.
Earlier this year, Kennedy replaced the CDC panel and replaced its members with a number of doctors and researchers who have been repeatedly questioned in the safety of vaccines and commonly used ingredients. The committee is expected to meet in September, but no specific date has been determined and a agenda has not been issued.
Depending on the committee’s advice, underage Americans are expected to provide 65 documents for a dangerous medical condition before they can get a snapshot. The complexity of operation is the fact that pharmacists – who run most of the Covid vaccines in the United States – are usually not expected to collect this type of information. The laws that govern their ability to manage routine vaccinations vary according to the state, where pharmacists are licensed.
Almost half of the states limit vaccines by pharmacists for those recommended by the CDC panel.
Access can also be complex for healthy adults and children interested in obtaining a snapshot for additional protection.
If the latest vaccines are not covered by their insurance, these patients may be asked to pay $ 150 or more of their pocket if they want one. They may also have to find a doctor or other health specialist ready to give the “Offel” snapshot, or out of use on the FDA sticker. Pharmacists may be reluctant to give vaccines outside the label.
The updated shots of Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax are targeted by the Coronavax virus called LP. 8.1, a recent dominant version of the virus closely related to some of the newly emerging cousins.
All three shots were available at the beginning under the emergency use permit in the Department of Food and Drugs, an urgent process to review vaccines and other anti -measure measures during the epidemic.
Moderna got fully approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in July for 6 months and says she must have enough offer to meet the demand for us.
In addition to canceling the emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine, the FDA also withdrew a mandate for many other treatments of the epidemic, including cash plasma, which was used to treat Covid-19 patients in the hospital before the first antiviral drugs become available.
Covid-19 vaccines do a good job to prevent severe diseases, hospitalization and death, which still pose a greater risk for the elderly and people with essential health factors, including heart disease, lung diseases and cancer.
Initial data from CDC, an estimated 47,500 American, died for Covid’s reasons last year. In at least a third of these cases, Covid-19 was listed as a basic cause of death. For the rest, Covid-19 was a contributing factor.
