Fall leaves are changing color earlier this year. Here's why

KDVR – Summer is still in Colorado, but the first signs of fall come a little earlier than expected.

The fall leaves can be seen slowly began to change in August, with the arrival of the peak season as soon as mid -September in some areas across the state. Although it is almost the beginning of the fall, some variable leaves come faster than usual.

Jay Jude, the provincial manager at the East Divie Tree Office, said this is due to the hot, hot summer.

Why the autumn leaves change earlier this year?

When the leaves start to slope, they change the colors. Along with drought conditions, the heat hurt the optical mechanism of the leaves and caused some edges of the leaves to brown.
