'Extremely worried': Downey teen missing for over 6 weeks may have left state

A 16 -year -old boy from Downey was missing for more than six weeks, and anxiety continues to grow for his safety.

Wednesday, National Center for Lost and Understanding ChildrenIt is a non -profit national organization that helps societies to determine the location of missing children and raise awareness about cases of child abuse and kidnapping, which issued an appeal to the public to obtain information related to the disappearance of Justin Tran.

Officials said that Tran lost his home in Downey on March 7, and his father tells NCMEC that no one has heard of him since then.

“He disappeared and [his father] “He is very concerned about his safety. He deeply misses his son and does not want more than to return home,” NCMEC said in its release.

Justin is described as a 5 -feet length, 11 -inch and 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

The NCMEC authorities told them that they believed that Tran may still be in the area, but there is concern that he had traveled to San Diego or Indianapolis, Indiana.
