When the Tennessee Titans traded the 3rd-year receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles on the back of draft night in 2022, it signaled a new era in Philadelphia football.
Brown finished with nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns en route to an Eagles Super Bowl run. Since then, it’s been anything but comfortable for both the Eagles and the Browns, with trade rumors swirling every other week it seems.
Does A.J. Brown Want to Be Traded Out of Philadelphia?
Brown is on pace for his lowest yardage output since his final season in Tennessee. A season in which he only played in 13 games. That has led many to believe the 3-time All-Pro could be asking for a change of scenery.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky pointed to a continued disconnect between Brown and the team.

Brown is coming off his best performance of the season in the Eagles 28-22 win over the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday. He had four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.
The Eagles Don’t Seem Interested in Trading A.J. Brown
While the Eagles have stated publicly they have no desire to trade Brown, who just signed a 3-year, $96 million extension before last season, the signs of the disconnect that Orlovsky mentioned have popped up all too frequently.
Just a few weeks ago, after their embarrassing 34-17 loss to the New York Giants, Brown couldn’t recall a meeting that he was allegedly part of, along with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.
And just a day after their win over the Vikings, Brown took to Instagram to post “Using me, but not using me”, leaving Eagles fans even more confused as the NFL Trade Deadline of Nov. 4th inches ever closer.
Nothing is certain when it comes to whether the Eagles decide to move Brown. What is certain is the $43.5 million dead cap hit that would consume 15% of Philadelphia’s salary cap in 2026 if he is dealt in the next two weeks.
I’m not a betting man, but my guess is A.J. Brown will just have to keep posting cryptic things on social media and pray for more games like the one he had against the Vikings.
