Denver (KDVR) – The Hazmat team and other teams in Fort Collins were cleaning a Carbon dioxide leakage Friday morning.
Before 11 am, Poudre Fire Authility said that the Hazmat team and other teams were called to 250 N. Mason St.
The crossover center was evacuated and the surrounding buildings, where the authority said that the crews watched the air quality and cleaned the spill by breaking large parts of frozen carbon dioxide so that they could evaporate.
The authority said: “Firefighters broke large parts of frozen carbon dioxide (mainly dry ice) into small pieces so that they can evaporate quickly.”
The spill seemed to be coming from a car, and the authority said it “will accompany the carrier’s car to its facility.”
At approximately 11:15 am, the agency announced that the evacuations were raised, and the Hazmat team confirmed that the levels had returned to normal after it was a little high, but it remained within safe borders.
No injuries were reported.
