Erika Jayne’s $25 Million Fraud Case Could Head to Trial as Her Legal Woes Explode!
Erika Jayne may soon be facing a jury in connection with a $25 million lawsuit tied to her estranged husband Thomas Girardi’s bankruptcy case. According to attorney Ronald Richards, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star could be headed to trial before the end of 2025.
Ronald shared an update on the status of the lawsuit first filed by Thomas Girardi’s bankruptcy trustee, Elissa D. Miller, in July 2021. The trustee has alleged that Erika, 53, and her company EJ Global received more than $25 million in misappropriated funds originally meant for Tom’s former clients.
Ronald, a frequent commentator on Girardi-related litigation, revealed new information about Erika’s case on social media, including an upcoming hearing that could determine when a jury trial will begin.
“The CA Franchise Tax Board already found this business to be sham and only for tax deductions. We are hopeful that on June 4, 2025, the Court will set a jury trial,” he wrote, referencing EJ Global. “Erika believes it will be a ten-day jury trial. Here are the relevant pages of the status report. Both sides want the case heard by this judge and not have any portions sent back to the bankruptcy court.”
Ronald added that a trial could be confirmed before 2025 ends. “We believe a trial will be set before the end of the year. This is clearly the greatest imminent threat facing Erika today,” he stated.
In addition to the trustee case, Erika is also battling a separate legal matter involving designer Marco Morante, co-founder of Marco Marco.
He and his business partner Christopher Psaila filed lawsuits against Erika after she allegedly accused them of making $800,000 in fraudulent charges to her American Express account — claims they say devastated their business financially and reputationally.
The designer’s case against Erika recently hit a procedural snag after her previous attorney, Jim Wilkes, made a clerical error that resulted in a potential $300,000 judgment. Erika has since retained new legal counsel in an attempt to dismiss the case altogether.
“Erika’s new attorney has wishfully assumed that the Court’s prior striking of the prior motion does not preclude a new motion to dismiss,” Ronald explained. “For whatever reason, Morante’s attorneys didn’t move for default. Why not? They are not providing a reason for not doing so for now. Does Morante want this case going on as long as the $25m fraud case against Erika?”
He continued, “Jim has wisely given the torch to new counsel that didn’t drop the ball in the Florida case to avoid prejudice to his ward and client, Erika Girardi.” While Erika continues to fight multiple legal battles, RHOBH is currently on hiatus as it prepares for its upcoming 15th season.
The legal drama surrounding the reality star is expected to be a continued point of interest among fans and followers of the show. No official trial date has been confirmed as of yet, but all eyes remain on the June 4, 2025 court appearance, which could determine the next chapter in Erika Jayne’s ongoing legal saga.
