Erik and Lyle Menendez parole hearings: What to know and what up to this moment

Los Angeles (Kabc) – The Battle of Eric and Lile Mindeys will continue for freedom this week when the brothers face a separately relevant plate.

The brothers were convicted of killing their parents in 1989 at their home in Beverly Hills. They were sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of conditional release. Layl Mindez was 21 years old, and Erik Mindez was eighteen years old at the time of the crime. They said they committed self -defense murders after years of abuse by their father.

Interest was renewed in the Manendez Brothers case in May 2023 after documents revealed new evidence that cooperated with Eric and Laila’s allegations of abuse of their mother, and a campaign began to allow them to get out of the conditional release.

What happens after the conditional release session?
