‘End of an era’, San Francisco diner closes after 4 decades

Employee Brett Morris described the closure as “the end of an era” on social media. Morris said: “I spent the past ten years working here. Thank you for the amazing employees who have continued as long as it was!

The restaurant did not give a reason to the sudden closure.

FOG City was opened in 1985 by the founders, Bill Higgins and Bill Obson. The restaurant was boldly known to appear in the 1993 movie “So I got married to the ax killer.”

Reopening in 2013, the restaurant returned with a more modern design. The kitchen and cocktails were created to be selective.

The iconic restaurant is located in 1300 Battery St. Near Embarcadero.
