Emma Raducanu Will Face Marta Kostyuk at the 2025 Citi DC Open 1R

Raducanu is set to compete in both the singles and doubles events at the 2025 Citi DC Open. In the first round of the singles competition, she will face seventh-seeded Marta Kostyuk.

Kostyuk will enter this WTA 500 hard court tournament following her grass court swing, during which she participated in three events: the 2025 Berlin Tennis Open, the Bad Homburg Open, and Wimbledon.

In Berlin and Bad Homburg, the Ukrainian was eliminated in the first round by Emma Navarro. At Wimbledon, she was seeded 26th and again faced an early exit, this time losing to qualifier Veronika Erjavec in the first round.

Raducanu and Kostyuk have met three times on the WTA Tour, with the latter emerging victorious in two of those encounters. Their most recent match took place in the second round of the 2025 Madrid Open, where Kostyuk triumphed with a score of 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.

The winner of the first-round match between Raducanu and Kostyuk in Washington, D.C., will advance to face either wild card Naomi Osaka or Yulia Putintseva in the second round.

In the doubles event at the 2025 Citi DC Open, Raducanu has teamed up with Elena Rybakina. They will begin their campaign against the fourth-seeded duo of Tereza Mihalíková and Olivia Nicholls in the first round.

The victors of this match will progress to the quarterfinals, where they will face either the team of Giuliana Olmos and Aldila Sutjiadi or the pairing of Miyu Kato and Wu Fang-hsien.
