Despite facing some injury concerns, Emma Raducanu was seen embarking on a new training regimen in preparation for the 2025 French Open.
This year, Raducanu has encountered a couple of injury setbacks. Earlier this year, before beginning her campaign at the 2025 Australian Open, she had to withdraw from the ASB Classic due to a lower back injury.
Most recently, during her second-round match at the 2025 Internationaux de Strasbourg against Danielle Collins, she called for a medical timeout due to a back spasm.
Emma Raducanu All Smiles in Paris Despite Injury Concerns Ahead of French Open 2025
Following her campaign in Strasbourg, Raducanu has traveled to Paris for the French Open, where her best performance to date came in 2022. In that tournament, she triumphed over Linda Nosková in the first round before being eliminated by Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round.
Recently, Emma Raducanu took to social media to share a photo with her physical trainer, Chelsea Olivia Annalls, at the Jardin des Tuileries. Along with the image, she shared a running emoji, suggesting that she has incorporated running into her training routine in preparation for the clay-court Grand Slam.
“🏃♀️ @chelseaoliviaannalls,” Raducanu captioned her Instagram story.
Speaking about the injury she sustained at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, Emma Raducanu stated that she has not fully recovered from the spasm but is doing everything possible to regain her fitness and be ready for the French Open.
“Not feeling 100%. I had a spasm in Strasbourg and have just been trying to manage it as best I can, doing treatment. I’ve been on the practice court last night and this morning. Yeah, it felt okay, but obviously it’s different playing a match. I’m trying to do everything to get up to speed as fast as possible,” Raducanu said.
