Dolores Catania Claims COVID Vaccine Triggered Heart Issues and Weight Gain After Mounjaro Stopped Working!
Dolores Catania is opening up about her recent weight gain and the health struggles that may have contributed to it — including a heart procedure she suspects was triggered by the COVID vaccine.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star shared that she’s regained the 20 pounds she previously lost with the help of Mounjaro and Ozempic. According to Dolores, the weight gain began after she underwent a cardiac ablation to treat an unexpected heart condition.
“I had something new that a lot of people are getting now at a young age, they said this was like for older people,” said Dolores, 54. “So they can say it’s from something — I’m not gonna say what — but there’s no proof of that.”
When host Jeff Lewis asked if she was referring to the COVID vaccine, Dolores replied, “Well, yeah.”
“That’s not what the doctor said because they won’t commit to that but they’re like, ‘Yeah, so there’s no reason for you to have this’ — my heart was like, beating a lot — so I had to go in for a cardiac ablation,” she continued. “So I’m gonna say maybe that’s why.”
The Bravo star also revealed that the heart condition has forced her to take a number of medications — including blood thinners — which she believes may be contributing to the weight gain. “It’s like a formality now, I have to take it for the next 90 days and then I should be done,” she explained. “So I’m hoping maybe that’s why I gained weight.”
Dolores added that she’s been struggling with her changing body and is seeking therapy to cope. “I’m really having a bad time,” she admitted.
The reality star has long been transparent about using medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro, originally prescribed to treat type 2 diabetes, for weight loss and other medical reasons. “I feel good on it,” she told Page Six in September. “I’ve done the research, spoke to so many doctors and I haven’t had one doctor personally say to me, ‘It’s bad for you.’”
In a prior interview, she emphasized that her health journey is multifaceted. “I’m going through menopause, I have a thyroid issue, I have inflammation and weight is hard to take off,” she said.
“And I work out, and I don’t eat crazy, and I was gaining weight, and it’s a lot of different layers.” Despite her setbacks, Dolores remains committed to navigating her health journey — and doing so on her own terms.
