Denver (KDVR) – Denver’s licenses and licenses want to change its name to the Licensing and Consumer Protection Department.
The administration said that changing the name will help the public to understand the services it provides better, because it does not oversee or manage the collection of Al -Makous taxes, but, for example, licenses and business permits.
“Changing the name to the Ministry of Licensing and Consumer Protection is a simple but effective amendment that will help the public understand the critical work and reach it from this agency,” said the mayor of Denver Mike Johnston, in a statement.
The Ministry of Finance is currently responsible for overseeing and managing the collection of Al -Makous taxes, according to DEL, which she said has a total of more than 75,000 licenses and permits.
Del said it currently emit more than 100 types of licenses and professional permits, including residential rents, security guards, food service providers, thieves, drink, marijuana and short -term rents.
The administration said that it is also reviewing all consumer protection complaints and achieving them against the companies required to obtain a license permit and can be able to take procedures in response to illegal activities.
“the Consumption and licenses section “It protects Denver consumers and ensures that companies are working morally in our city,” Johnston said.
The change of the proposed name for DEL is sponsored by a member of the 11 Stacie Gilmore County Council and will appear before the Denver City Council Committee, Arts, Manpower, Climate and Aviation Services on Wednesday.
If the city council approves it, the proposal to change the name will appear in November to consider it to the voters.
