Denver weather: Early showers, late clearing

DENVER (KDVR) – Expect it to be scattered for the first half of the day, before Denver’s weather clears the skies this evening.

Today’s weather:

Cloudy skies and rain showers are expected in the mountains and even in the metro area in the first half of the day. Highs in Denver reach the mid-70s with light winds. The rain and clouds will begin to improve this evening, leaving for better conditions later in the day.

A flood warning is in effect for the West Slope through Sunday morning. Be aware if you live in flood-prone areas and take action if a warning is issued.

Weather tonight:

Skies remain generally clear tonight with a light breeze. Overnight low temperatures will drop into the lower 50s.

Looking forward:

Sunday ends the weekend with a mix of sun, clouds, gusty winds and moderate highs in the lower 70s. Some snow could fall in the northern mountains early Sunday morning and into the afternoon hours. Monday begins the next work week with partly cloudy skies, brisk winds and cooler highs in the lower 60s. Tuesday features partly to mainly sunny skies with highs reaching the upper 60s.

We start building more sunshine into midweek on Wednesday as highs reach the upper 60s. Thursday will bring more sunshine with temperatures in the lower 70s. Highs slightly above average in the upper 60s are here to cap off the work week with abundant sunshine.
