Denver (KDVR)-Less than 24 hours after highlighting the alleged drug house in the Swansea neighborhood of Denver, the city inspectors published a 24-hour notice in the emergency on property.
The neighbors had long complained about the vacant house on Filmour Street, saying that it was used for drugs, stolen cars and squatting. They told Fox31 that the house was a magnet for crime, garbage and even mice.
James Hicks, director of the neglected and impressive Denver Building Program, confirmed that the inspectors were already tracking the property and said it was on the city’s radar.
“Although it may seem to have nothing to happen, we are very busy, we are fully aware,” Hicks said. “Especially these very visual characteristics. I saw your story this morning and I knew immediately that it is 4523 Fillmore. I know history with it. I am also disappointed, but we work through it.”
The inspectors say that cleaning the house should happen within two weeks at the latest.
Denver has a program for treating neglected and degraded buildings, which are unsafe properties or a nuisance that can attract crime and cause safety issues for the surrounding families. Residents can report the properties of the problem by calling the Denver 311.
