Burbank – The Sanchez family’s 2025 reunion got a star-studded surprise on Saturday.
Barbara Cuso Moreno and her extended family were gathered at Johnny Carson Park in Burbank for their annual gathering.
As the celebration came to a close, her cousins spotted “Dancing With the Stars” judge Derek Hough in the park. “Everyone is watching the show. He was standing in the playground area. He was there with his wife (Hayley Erbert),” Cosio Moreno explained.
His cousin walked over and asked Derek if he would take a picture with the family since they were all fans of the show. She added: “He was generous and came over and we introduced him to my mother, Josie. We told him she was nine and two and in love.
At that point, Derek grabbed one of the family member’s phones and said, “Everyone in,” and took a family selfie.
“He was so kind and gracious to come and meet us. It’s a memory the Sanchez clan will always remember, and a very fun way to end the day,” she concluded.
Derek Hough was a professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars” from 2007 to 2016. He has won the coveted Mirror Ball trophy six times, dancing with Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Gray, Kellie Pickler, Amber Riley and Bindi Irwin. Hough joined the judging panel in season 29.
