It’s no secret that Dallas Cowboys fans typically think the franchise could use all the help it can get. At the roster’s core, Dallas’s offense really only has two super well-known stars consistently producing: CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott.
But with the 2026 wide receiver class looking better and better, one analyst recently projected the Cowboys to draft a fellow WR to help share some targets with Lamb in a 2026 mock draft.
Cowboys Projected To Pick 18-TD WR in 2026 NFL Draft To Assist CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott
It may only be September, but mock draft season is already underway. PFSN’s Owain Jones has since released his three-round 2026 NFL mock draft. “Antonio Williams has missed time early in the 2025 season, and Clemson’s disastrous start has showcased how vital he is to the Tigers’ vertical passing game,” Jones wrote.
“At 5’11” and 190 pounds, Williams is an exceptional separator. He uses electric, sudden movement to blindside defenders and has the straight-line speed to stretch the field. His skillful route running and natural leverage creation confuse defenders, adding elusive athleticism and aggressive playmaking separation to offensive game plans,” Jones added.
Jones sees the Cowboys taking Williams with the No. 26 overall pick.
Williams going to Texas would be a far-ish trek from home as he’s a South Carolina native, but he did earn Freshman All-America honors after leading the Tigers in both receptions and receiving yards in his first semester on campus, so he’s certainly impressive enough to get drafted anywhere in the country sooner rather than later.
Additionally, Williams clearly knows how to prioritize when he’s targeted. He’s already become the 13th player in Clemson history to record 150 career receptions, and has currently already recorded 18 touchdowns during his time as a Tiger so far.
As previously mentioned, Williams would be joining a roster with Lamb and Prescott. Lamb is currently suffering a high ankle sprain sustained during play against the Chicago Bears and will be considered week to week following his two-game absence.
Lamb has currently caught 16 receptions on the year so far across 24 targets. Prescott is also known for being a signal caller who typically favors the air-game and has thrown 126 attempts so far this season (with a 71.4 completion percentage).
The last time the Cowboys even played in a Super Bowl was all the way back in 1996, so head coach Brian Schottenheimer and owner Jerry Jones focusing on adding another key offensive player in Williams (who would undoubtedly be a nice addition for both Prescott and Lamb) would make complete sense.
