((Crohn-The Sonoma Upper County Court decided that Sonoma State University (SSU) can move forward in the budget reduction plan despite the desires of some students, according to the university.
SSU’s budget is designed to process an expected deficit of $ 23.9 million in this academic year by stopping many academic programs and ending the NCAA Division II athletics program.
A request was submitted to issue a preliminary judicial order and two campaigns for the state on behalf of seven SSU students to prevent the university from moving forward in budget plans. The initial vacuum order was extracted on the court’s belief that the university did not make a random decision without evidence.
“This court cannot conclude that the decision to cancel the athletics program has reached the abuse of the discretionary authority.” “Accordingly, a part of the petition is rejected by the defendants’ decision to end the athletics program between colleges.”
The temporary restriction order that ordered the SSU to stop the academic pause was raised last month due to the ruling, according to the university.
