Check your refrigerator. Costco is recalling one of its popular meal kits due to salmonella concerns.
Meatloaf with Yukon mashed potatoes and glaze, produced by the large retailer, contains an ingredient that could be contaminated with salmonella, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”. Costco recall notice.
“Costco is recalling the sell-by dates for item #30783 Meatloaf with Yukon Mashed Potatoes and Glaze because the ingredient supplier, Griffith Foods Inc., has announced a recall of an ingredient used in the meatloaf because the ingredient is likely contaminated with salmonella,” the notice said.

The expiration dates for the recalled equipment are between March 5 and 16. It was sold at Costco locations in 26 states, as well as Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
If you buy a meal kit, don’t eat it. Costco says customers can return them for a full refund.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this recall may have caused,” Costco said.
The company added that no illnesses have been reported.
Symptoms of salmonella include diarrhea, stomach cramps, headache, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms usually begin six hours to six days after infection and usually last four to seven days.
The infection can be severe in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems, who may require hospitalization.
