KDVR – Colorado is among a number of states in which the construction employment has decreased between May and June, according to Friday’s analysis.
There were 1,300 construction jobs lost in the state during the time period, according to Data It was issued by the general contractors in America. In addition to Colorado, the construction industry employment has decreased in 25 states and province of Colombia.
Ken Simson, chief economist in the association, attributed the number of lost jobs to “aggressive deportation measures” and “tightening legal immigration”.
“Without access to eligible workers, contractors will face a problem in providing manufacturing, infrastructure, energy and data center vibrant,” Simson said in a statement.
The decrease between May and June is still in the direction with a reported loss of 5100 building jobs in Colorado from June 2024 to June 2025.
The association now urges policy makers to expand workers lying programs quickly, so there will be “skilled workers to complete basic projects.”
“The administration cannot achieve its ambition of re -manufacturing jobs without enough construction workers with the appropriate skills to build new factories and other structures needed to support them,” AGC, CEO of AGC, said in a statement. “This cannot happen unless there were workers lying programs that allow the employment of construction workers in a timely manner.”
