UFC megastar Conor McGregor has never been shy about sharing his opinions — and now he’s showing love for a notable figure from the music world. The former two-division champion recently gave a shout-out to American rapper Kodak Black.
Conor McGregor Shows Love for Rapper Kodak Black on Instagram
McGregor seems to be a big fan of Kodak Black’s music. The two were seen enjoying each other’s company last year at a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) event in Marbella, Spain, where “The Notorious” was spotted dancing in the ring with the Florida rapper.
McGregor later posted a video of Kodak Black rapping on Instagram with the caption: “One of one @kodakblack.”
Kodak Black rose to fame with his breakout song “No Flockin.” His career has been filled with highs and lows — from hit records to several legal controversies, including assault allegations and a 2022 shooting outside an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles.
McGregor, meanwhile, co-founded a music label last year called “Green Records,” aiming to give rising artists a platform to be heard.
Michael Chandler Open to Fighting Conor McGregor in January
McGregor was originally scheduled to return to the Octagon against Michael Chandler at UFC 303. The two had built up their feud during Season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter, where they served as opposing coaches. Unfortunately for fight fans, McGregor had to pull out due to a toe injury.
Chandler recently teased a possible rescheduling of the fight for January. Speaking to Mike Bohn, “Iron” explained his post on social media and said he isn’t holding his breath but would still like to settle the score.
“It’s one of those deals where I’m not losing sleep at night, trying to get the Conor fight,” Chandler said. “If me and Conor are supposed to fight, and he’s supposed to come back, it’s gonna happen and I don’t need to force it. With that being said, if I’m a betting man, I’m not sure if he comes back. Do I want to fight him? Do I want to finish The Ultimate Fighter 31? Absolutely. So, we’ll see.”
The former Bellator champion emphasized that if the fight does happen, it needs to happen in January.
“All I know is, I’m going to enjoy my family over the summertime, work on some big-time business that I’ve been working on for the last couple weeks since the fight, and see how this whole thing unfolds.”
“If that Conor fight is out there and that needs to happen in January, that makes a lot of sense, so we’ll see.”
McGregor hasn’t fought since July 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier via TKO at UFC 264 after suffering a leg injury in the first round. Fans have been waiting for his return ever since, but with each passing month, the question remains: Will he fight again or walk away for good?
