Community outraged after ice cream vendor detained by immigration agents in Culver City

Society is angry after a man who sells ice cream has been arrested in the city of Colver for nearly 20 years by immigration agents.

On June 23, Ambrocio Lozano, also known as Enrique, was created in its usual place in Culver Boulevard near the Garden of Old Warriors at about 1 pm

He was suddenly surrounded by a set of disguised factors and was detained. His family said he was placed in an unique car and was moved to an unknown location.

Initially, they could not contact him and no information was provided about where it could be held. Its ice cream cart has been left on the sidewalk.

“We don’t even know whether he will be deported,” said Kimberly Norgo, his niece. “He does not even know where they send it.”

Family members said that Luzano is not currently an American citizen. Originally from Mexico, he and his wife lived in South Los Angeles nearly 20 years ago. Before taking it, Luzano managed to make a phone call to his wife to inform her of what was happening.

“He was only crying,” Norgo Sandra Mitchell told KTLA. Tell her where [ice cream] She was the vehicle and told her that he loved her before the death of the phone. “

Lausano has been a key player in his community for nearly 20 years. Friends and neighbors said they were angry after hearing his detention.

“We hear a lot about how gang and murderers are hunted, but in fact, those who eat it are our ice cream men, our nannies and uniqueness,” said one of the neighbors.

Residents said that Luzano was a friendly and always treated face, even if they had no money to pay.

“I don’t understand it,” said Jennifer Arthur, a neighbor. “Follow criminals. Don’t follow an ice cream man. I feel very sad.”

Many residents said they were also amazed that Luzano had been taken by masked agents who did not provide identity or an arrest warrant.

“This does not seem legal for me,” said Lori Warsel, another neighbor. “I think you will need papers. It seems crazy. I don’t understand it.”

Although Lozano is not an American citizen, Noriega said that the Mexican man who causes an ice cream cart seemed an easy goal for immigration agents who did not know who he is.

Friends and neighbors are also interested because Lozano is the main provider of his family.

“It is sad to see because they are trying to find a job to do,” Norga said of the arrested people. “They are trying to provide their families, not well.”

On Wednesday night, Luzano managed to contact his family to inform them that he was held in a detention center in the center of Los Angeles, which did not provide more details about his case.
